What I love about this landscape design is that they did not skimp on the lovely foliage. What makes it work so well is the fact that things have more or less been left alone, with what appears to be minimal cutting back to make room for what appears to be a little path through the forest. The Buddha statue is great, and gives the space a nice sacred feel. This is something I feel like too many yards skimp on, and that is infusing the space with a level of spirituality. This may sound hokey, but I really enjoy yards that have these elements of the cosmic.
