What I love about outdoor kitchen designs is that they allow for you to expand your property to hosting great outdoor cookouts for parties and for just you and the family. I am all about increasing the functionality of a property, and outdoor kitchen designs go a long way towards providing that. What is cool about this one is that not only does it have an extensive cooking setup, but it is also designed with some really great stonework. The patio furniture also goes well with this outdoor kitchen, thereby helping create a functional and accessibly pleasing outdoor kitchen design.

As I have said time and time again, a good yard will give you more than one option as far as what you can get out of it is concerned. This yard, for example gives you the opportunity to sit out in the mooring and have some coffee by yourself, yet at the same time you could have a bunch of friends over for a dinner party. The courtyard layout is lovely, with a variety of little trees and bushes. The surrounding lawn is also very well kept and manicured, with some nice trees around the fence line. I really like the stonework on the patio itself.

Here we have a covered patio with a variety of flowers in the yard. This is a really nice setup because not only is the patio a diverse space because it is covered, but you also have the added benefit of looking 0ut on a nice array of colorful flowers. Now, one of the things to keep in mind when it comes to landscaping an area that is a more moderate amount of space is to be as efficient as possible. They were smart here because we have flowers and a nice lawn, but nothing feels claustrophobic. That is not an easy balance to strike.

This is a huge, modern cook’s kitchen with an awesome hood fan. If you are going to be doing some intense cooking in your kitchen, then having a hood fan is kind of a no-brainer. You can tell that this kitchen is for the foodie because not only do we have that state of the art hood fan, but we also have a lovely rack of pots and pans hanging from the ceiling. The counter space is great, and there is a ton of space for cooking and prepping. The fact that there is an exit out onto the deck makes me think that you could have some great parties here.

This is a great design because it fuses two very cool spaces together into a cohesive package that is really great. Some kitchen spaces are just screaming for dinner parties, and what is so cool about this one is that it is screaming for dinner parties next to the fireplace in the courtyard. Here we have a large doorway exiting out into a really nice courtyard setting, thus giving the homeowner and their friends a nice place to hang out and eat. You could even have some folks inside and some folks outside. The doorway represents the ability to have both spaces fused into one.

This is a very private courtyard that would be perfect for sitting out in the evening alone with your partner. I over the little bench next to the door, and actually find it to be the highlight of the space. The arched doorway is very cool because it actually helps elongate the space a little bit by making it feel bigger. Now, this light seems strange given the fact that we are looking at an outdoor space, but these subtle visual elements can make your yard feel much bigger. At then of the day, this is a romantic and cozy courtyard space.

This is another simple backyard landscape design that is really nice for a couple of reasons. The dappled sunlight lets us know that the trees are doing their part to make this yard so comfortable. ON those hot summer days it is nice to have some shade, and if you are able to do this with the trees on your property as opposed to umbrellas, then not only does your yard look nicer because of the array of trees, but it is also functional. A both/and mindset is always god when approaching your landscape idea. The patio and furniture also look comfortable.

This backyard landscape has it all. Let’s start with the lawn and work our way around. The lawn is a little lumpy, which is what you want to see in a comfortable and casual family backyard. This implies that the lawn is comfortable to sit on, so you can have little family picnics and such. For the bigger parties, the pool is awesome. Even if you are just keeping it to family swimming night, having a pool in the backyard is a great addition. The garden of bushes and flowers in the corner by the pool is also a very nice touch because it gives a strong earthy sense.

If you are designing your yard with the family in mind, then something like a playhouse or even a tree house are great additions. Not only are they fun for the kids, but they also round out your backyard landscape in a big way. Suddenly, with the addition of these elements your yard becomes more than it was. It is more functional. Now, if you do not have a family you can still design your backyard landscape to have social functionality to it. You could consider an outdoor kitchen or a covered patio with a big table for larger dinner parties. Either way, it all looks and feels great.

I love this patio because it is so wide open. I have always been a fan of minimalism in yard design. You do not need a ton of bells and whistles to make your yard look awesome, and this space proves that in spades. What we have is a seamless transition from a perfect lawn to a cool rock garden with a spattering of little trees and bushes. The patio furniture is very nice as well. I can easily imagine hanging out here with friends sipping lemonade and vodka cocktails. They did a really nice job with this landscape idea.
